October Updates

After taking a break from presentations in September, Omari was right back at it in October. During the month of October there were visits to colleges, prisons, and libraries making for a wide reach to diverse audiences.

October 1st, 2019: Omari presented “From Crime to the Classroom: How Education Changes Lives” at the Lakewood branch of the Pierce County Library.

October 8th, 2019: Omari was on a panel with fellow formerly incarcerated authors Terry Hill and Robert Britten at the Lakewood branch of the Pierce County Library.

October 10th, 2019: Omari was the lunch speaker at the Women’s Conference held at Mission Creek Correctional Center for Women.

October 21st: Omari presented “From Crime to the Classroom: How Education Changes Lives” at Skagit Valley College.

October 23rd: Omari participated in a prosecutor training in Bend, Oregon through an organization called Prosecutor Impact. He was joined by several other individuals who had been through the judicial system and got to share his experiences with prosecutors with the hopes of creating empathy and ensuring less reliance on incarceration and cash bail.
